Sciatica Back Pain - Causes Part 1

spinal stenosis

The subject of sciatica back pain causes requires your understanding, that your body alignment and mechanics are directly affected by your muscles and even the smallest muscle imbalance can, overtime, place tremendous amounts of uneven pressure and wear and tear on your body, especially the spine and it's supporting muscles.

It is those imbalances of your muscles, that often go unnoticed, and often ignored, that is the seat of sciatica back pain causes. It is that simple and not at all complicated.

Spinal Stenosis, is one of the Sciatica Back Pain causes

In the instance of spinal stenosis, your sciatica back pain is caused by pressure on a nerve, due to a narrowing of the spinal canal.

An immediate question here is, what causes the narrowing of the spinal canal? And here are several possible sciatica causes that lead to spinal stenosis:

Trauma- Injuries and accidents can either dislocate the spine and the spinal canal or cause burst fractures that produce fragments of bone that penetrate the canal, and causing irritation of the spinal nerves therein, resulting in sciatica back pain..

Aging-As you grow older, your body's ligaments -the tough connective tissues between the bones in the spine - can thicken. As a result, spurs - which are small growths- may develop on the bones and into the spinal canal. Aging-As you grow older, your body's ligaments -the tough connective tissues between the bones in the spine - can thicken. As a result, spurs - which are small growths- may develop on the bones and into the spinal canal. Furthermore, the facet joints, which are the flat surfaces on each vertebra that form the spinal column, can also begin to thicken somewhat. That thickening pushes against the spinal nerves, hence you have sciatica back pain, as a result.

Fluorosis- This refers to an excessive level of fluoride in the body. It may result from chronic inhalation of industrial dusts or gases contaminated with fluorides, prolonged ingestion of water containing large amounts of fluorides, or accidental ingestion of fluoride-containing insecticides.

Such a condition may lead to calcified spinal ligaments or softened bones and to degenerative conditions, an example of which is spinal stenosis, that finally leads to sciatica back pain.

Heredity-If at the time of birth the spinal canal is relatively too small, symptoms of spinal stenosis may show up in a relatively young person. Accordingly, then the structural deformities of the involved vertebrae can cause the spinal canal to be narrower, thus impacting the spinal nerves, and causing sciatica back pain.t joints, which are the flat surfaces on each vertebra that form the spinal column, can also begin to thicken somewhat.
